v2026.10.28 Release Notes · Design & Auth

Cyber Cyan Pulse-to-Feed Identity & Instant Google Sign-In

By Louis Gray · Permalink

Today's update refines both the visual identity and the startup speed of Webnerd.ai. Our new Cyber Cyan Pulse-to-Feed icon bridges the high-signal pulse of breaking stories with the timeless three-arc broadcast symbol of RSS.

Instant Startup & Direct Sign-In

We consolidated initial authentication, configuration, folder trees, and unread stream hydration into a single compressed /api/bootstrap round-trip paired with a local snapshot cache—delivering sub-16ms first-frame paint when opening the reader. Signing in with Google now happens directly inline without extra modal steps.

✨ Highlights in v2026.10.28
  • New Cyber Cyan Pulse-to-Feed vector emblem combining a live signal waveform with classic RSS broadcast arcs.
  • Direct on-screen Google Sign-In button in the welcome view and sidebar footer for frictionless 1-click sign-in.
  • Single-round-trip /api/bootstrap endpoint and local Stale-While-Revalidate snapshot for instant first-frame rendering.
  • Official Release Notes & Product Blog (/releases) with built-in RSS 2.0 syndication (/releases/rss.xml).
v2026.10.25 Feature Launch · AT Protocol & SEO

AT Protocol OAuth 2.1, Standard.site Feeds & Full Search Engine Indexing

By Louis Gray · Permalink

The open web is thriving across both classic RSS/Atom and the decentralized AT Protocol ecosystem. Webnerd.ai now supports native AT Protocol OAuth 2.1 with DPoP cryptographic key binding, allowing you to sign in with your Bluesky handle and import your decentralized reading graph.

Standard.site Long-Form Publishing & Newsletter Inboxes

You can now subscribe directly to at:// Standard.site publications alongside standard XML feeds, and generate a dedicated @webnerd.ai newsletter address to route email-only newsletters directly into your reading folders.

Rich SEO & Public Discovery

Public routes—including Starter Bundles, the Curators Directory, and every curator's /@handle shared posts page—now pre-render semantic HTML and Schema.org structured data server-side for instant link unfurling and search indexing.

✨ Highlights in v2026.10.25
  • Native AT Protocol OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and DPoP proof-of-possession for secure Bluesky authentication.
  • First-class support for Standard.site (at://) publications, documents, and decentralized recommendations.
  • Personal email newsletter inbox addresses so Substack and Ghost newsletters flow straight into your RSS folders.
  • Full Server-Side Rendering (SSR), dynamic sitemap.xml, Open Graph cards, and Schema.org JSON-LD across all public routes.
v2026.10.08 Announcement · Launch

Meet Webnerd.ai — Classic RSS for the New Web

By Louis Gray · Permalink

Welcome to Webnerd.ai! We built Webnerd.ai for people who love following independent writers, blogs, and newsletters directly at the source—without algorithmic timelines throttling links or burying chronological updates.

Built for Speed & Keyboard Ergonomics

Everything in Webnerd.ai is designed around fast daily triage: tap j and k to step through stories, m to toggle unread state, v to open the original post, / to search your entire archive via SQLite FTS5, and Shift+A to mark a stream read.

Read the full story behind the project in Louis Gray's announcement post.

✨ Highlights in v2026.10.08
  • Zero-latency J/K keyboard navigation, Compact List and Expanded Stream views, and instant unread count updates.
  • Universal feed engine supporting RSS 2.0, Atom 1.0, RDF, JSONFeed, Substack, Medium, Ghost, and Bluesky RSS.
  • Full-text search powered by SQLite FTS5 with BM25 ranking across titles, authors, and article bodies.
  • Drag-and-drop OPML 2.0 import and 1-click OPML export so you always own your subscription graph.
